]Prayer is the second of the five fundamental principles or pillars of practical devotions in Isgam . prayers(Al-Salah) purify the soul and liberate us fromthe bondages of sin. Allah explains in Surat il-Roum what means: Therefore, offer your prayers and glorify the Almighty Allah when you enter upon the time of the evening,and when you enterthe time of morning, and to Him belongs praise in the heavens and the earth, and in the after-noon and when you are at midday.
The special times for Allah's remembrance either through prayers or glorification are so described as to include all our activities in life, when we rise early in the morning,and when we go to rest in the evening.
when we are in the midstof our work,at the decline of the sun in the late afternoon, it may be noted that these are the striking stages in the passage of the sun through the day as well as stages in our daily working lives. On thisare based the prescribed obligatory five prayers:
1\Fajr:early morning before sunrise (Dawn).
2\Noonday (Zuhr) .
3\In the late afternoon (Asr) .
4\The evening prayer just after sunset (Maghrib).
5\And the night prayers when the afterglow has disappeared from the horizon or Isha.
The performance of prayers to Allah ,according to Islam, is the essence of man's duties to Allah . Prayer is the only way to communion with Allah.
